Frequently Asked Questions

About C.B. Tours

  • What is C.B. Tours?
We are a travel agency and tour operator that specializes in organizing Biblical Tours in Greece and Turkey
  • Are you affiliated with a Church?
Yes we are. As a matter of fact our founder is also the founder and pastor of the Hellenic Christian Church in Athens, Greece. For more information please visit "Our Church" page and our founder's page.
  • What is your denomination?
We do not see our belief as a religion. We have an active relationship with Jesus Christ and uphold his word as spoken through the Bible. However, some people assign to us the term "Pentecostals" simply because we believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Website Help

  • How can I register to your website?
There are 2 ways you can register to our website. Either fill in the tour application form located at our APPLY page or create an account directly through the CREATE ACCOUNT page. Both ways result in an immediate and automatic creation of your personal account, the only difference is that with the first way your password will be randomly generated for you and sent to your email and you will then have to log in manually, whereas with the second way you get to choose your own password and you are logged in automatically as soon as you create your account. However, keep in mind that the second way is useful only if you decide not to apply for a bible tour through our application form but through email, phone or live chat.
  • How can I use the Live Chat feature of your website?
In order to chat with us live, you need to be a registered member. As soon as you register (see above answer for details on registering), log in and the Live Chat feature will be available to you on the bottom right corner of our website.
  • Why do I need to register to your website?
You need to register because it is the only way that you can get a personal page at our website, through which you can alter your personal details and check all the documents related to your tour, like quotes, invoices & payments. Also a calendar of your planned tour will be available to you through your personal page as soon as you pay the minimum deposit as stated in your tour's quote (offer). The calendar is an interactive calendar-like interface with all the information related to your Biblical Tour, like hotels (with link to the hotel's webpage, map instructions, link to hotel's tripAdvisor page and more), destinations (with map instructions and photos), sightseeings you'll be visiting etc. All that information is presented in an easy to read day-by-day and hour-by-hour interface.
  • How can I change my password?
You can change your password by visiting the RESET YOUR PASSWORD page, where you fill in your e-mail address (the one you used to register with at our website). After that an email will be automatically sent to your email address containing instructions on how to reset your password to a new one of your choosing.
  • What if I don’t have an email address?
An email address is unfortunately mandatory in order to book a tour with C.B. Tours. We use it to send you all of the necessary documents, like our offer or the invoices needed for payment. If for some reason you do not have an email address, we suggest setting up a FREE email address with google's gmail service, one of the most secure email services out there.
  • Can I see an example of the personal account I'll be getting after I register?
Yes you can. Please go to the LogIn page and enter test@test.com for the email and 7777777 for the password. You will then be taken to the dashboard of a dummy user where you'll be able to see all of it's features, like the quote/invoice system and the tour calendar. Please keep in mind that any information presented in the dummy user's dashboard is fake.

Booking A Tour

  • How can I book a Biblical tour?
You can fill in the application form located at our APPLY page, contact us through our CONTACT page, email us directly at info@christianbibletours.org, call us at +30 210 2323604, or contact us through the Live Chat feature of our website, available to you after you have registered to our website.
  • How does booking a tour work exactly?
The process of booking a tour with us is as simple as it gets. If you initiate the process by sending us the application form located at our APPLY page, an account will be automatically created for you at our website. If you choose any other way of contacting us (email, phone, etc) you will be asked by our staff to register to our website through the CREATE ACCOUNT page.

After your account has been created we will send you a quote (offer) to your email address in 1-3 business days, which will contain in detail the Tour's cost and the payment terms. You will then have the option to either accept the quote or reject it, through your personal account page.

If you choose to reject it, you will be automatically presented with a form through which you'll have the possibility to inform us of the reasons you rejected the quote, thus enabling us to send you a new and improved offer, according to your specific needs.

Once you accept the quote an invoice will be sent to your email address (it will also be available at your personal account page at our website, along with any other documents, like quotes), which you'll have to pay according to the payment terms described in the quote you accepted earlier. Also, at that point you will be asked to send us a list with the names (as stated on the passports or national ID cards) of all the members of your group.

Once the initial payment has been made you will have access, through your account page, to a detailed presentation of your tour in a calendar-like day-by-day and hour-by-hour interface, containing all the information that you need, like hotels you'll be staying, maps, links, sightseeings and more. After that you just have to make the final payment, according to the terms, and count down to the days left before you arrive for your Biblical Tour.
  • Do I get a day by day itinerary? When?
You can find a day by day itinerary of your tour in your account page after you have successfully made the first payment for your tour. It will contain all of the necessary information so that you may know exactly where you'll be staying, where you'll be going and what you'll be seeing, complete with hour by hour reports and the appropriate links, map references and more.
  • After I book a tour online, will I get anything in my email?
Yes. If you book through the APPLY page, your account details will be emailed to you automatically, along with a copy of your application, so that you can log in to our website and start receiving notifications about the progress of your booking. If you book through direct email or through the phone, you'll be asked by our staff to register to our website before we can process your booking. Once you do, your account details will be emailed to you, but your application will not, since it will have been created by us offline. With both cases, you'll soon (1-3 business days) be receiving our quote (offer) in your email, which you can accept or reject by logging in your account, using the account details emailed to you.
  • Can I get my documents (invoices etc) mailed to me?
Unfortunately no. The process of sending you the necessary documents through mail takes too long and our offer will be valid only for a few days after we submit it to you. Thus speed is of the utmost importance. We can however give you physical copies of the originals once you arrive.
  • Can I see an example of the day by day itinerary?
Yes you can. Please go to the LogIn page and enter test@test.com for the email and 7777777 for the password. You will then be taken to the dashboard of a dummy user where you'll be able to see all of it's features, like the quote/invoice system and a day by day itinerary (tour calendar). Please keep in mind that any information presented in the dummy user's dashboard is fake.
  • Can I make a change to my reservation?
Yes you can. Just contact us and explain what it is you need changed and we will guide you to the next step. You may be asked to submit a new tour application, or you may not need to do anything at all. In case you have already accepted a quote from us or even pre-paid an invoice then some steps will definitely need to be taken. However some changes are simply impossible once the date of your arrival is closer than 60 days (e.g. hotel change). In case you need to add more people to your tour after the 60-day mark, we may be able to accommodate you, but it depends on the hotel's availability. If on the other hand you need to remove some people after the 60-day mark, then only the initial deposit can be refunded (see terms & conditions for details).
  • How far in advance should I book a tour?
You need to book your tour at least 120 days (4 months) prior to your intended arrival. The more time we have available, after you book your tour, the better the price we'll be able to offer you. Also keep in mind that if you try to book too close to your intended arrival, we may not be able to accommodate you at all.
  • What is a quote?
A quote is another way of saying "offer". You will receive a quote (offer) from us 1-3 business days after you apply for a biblical tour. The quote will contain the tour price per person, the total, as well as the payment conditions (number of payments, amount and due date for each payment). You will have the option to either accept or reject the offer through your personal account page, in which case you can request a new quote better suited to your specific needs (you'll be presented with a survey form as soon as you reject the offer, enabling you to tell us what you'd like changed). If you accept the quote, though, we will send you an invoice which will reflect the quote you accepted. None of these stages are binding however, you can accept a quote, have an invoice sent to you and you will still have time to change your mind. Keep in mind that a quote has an expiration date of 3 days, after which you can no longer accept it or reject it, and if you're still interested in our tours, you're going to have to send us a new tour application.
  • When is my reservation secured and confirmed?
As soon as you make the initial deposit (30% of the total cost) your reservation will be secured and confirmed. After your initial deposit, we will process your tour and all the arrangements will be finalized. You will also gain access to a day-by-day and hour-by-hour tour schedule containing all of the necessary information (e.g. hotels, tour itinerary)

About Our Tours

  • What kind of hotels do you include in your tours?
The default option for our tours includes 4-star hotels. However you can opt for 5-star hotels, all you have to do is mention it in the "comments" field of the tour application form, or tell us in an email. Keep in mind that we need to know your preference before we send you our quote (offer) because the price will be different. Also, some tours include hotels in 3 different cities, and a 5-star hotel may not be available in some.
  • Will we have a Christian guide?
Yes. Our tour guides are fully qualified and certified professionals, and they are all born again Christians. You can expect very high ethical and professional standards with a unique specialization to ancient Christianity. However, if you book the Cruise we are offering, then the guide will be provided by the cruise ship and we have no way of knowing his/her belief.
  • Do we have the same guide for the entire tour?
Yes. Your guide will be with you all day long from start to finish. However he/she will take extra care not to be obtrusive. Keep in mind that if you book the cruise we are offering, then the guide will be provided by the cruise ship
  • Will there be any free time?
Some of our tours have an extra day dedicated to relaxation and personal time. Besides that, you'll have every afternoon to yourself, since sighseeing concludes at around 6:00 p.m.
  • What length of day can I expect?
Most days, we leave the hotel at 8:00 a.m. and return at 6:00 p.m. Some days, though, might take half an hour longer.
  • How much walking is required?
We do not recommend our tours for persons who cannot walk a mile at a moderate pace, navigate some uneven terrain, cobblestone streets, steps and hills. If this is not possible, you will miss some of the sightseeing that is scheduled. Our guides must keep to a schedule for the benefit of the average tour member. We suggest that you prepare yourself by walking 1-2 miles per day for the weeks prior to your departure. Our tours do not make provisions for persons with wheel chairs and walkers.
  • Will I have a roommate?
By default, our tours include hotel rooms for 2 persons, so yes, you will have a roommate which we will choose for you, taking into account family members, sex and age, in that order. If your group has special needs on that department, you must inform us accordingly.
  • What types of meals are included?
Your stay in the various hotels of your tour will be on a half-board basis, which means that you get 2 meals per day, a breakfast and a lunch or a dinner. Since during lunch time you'll usually be on a sighseeing, a breakfast and a dinner is more likely.
  • What is the type of motor-coach?
The motor-coach has 48-52 seats, and it includes air conditioning, on-board toilet and in some cases a T.V. Rest stops are made every 1-2 hours for your comfort.
  • How many people can be in my group?
The minimum number of people that can form a group elligible for our tours is 10, the maximum is 52. Any less than 10 and we cannot accommodate you, any more than 52 and the group must be broken in two groups, which will inflate the price, due to the need for 2 motor-coaches, 2 guides etc. As a rule of thumb, between 10 and 52 people, the more the better as far as price goes.
  • Can I be baptized on the tour?
Yes, you can be baptized in the river where Lydia was baptized Acts 16:11-15, as long as your tour includes the destination of Philippi. Certain arrangements will have to be made, so make sure you let us know prior to your arrival.
  • I have to eat frequently for my blood sugar. Do we stop for meals regularly?
Yes. But we recommend you keep snacks with you if your health would be compromised since the timing of our meal breaks can vary slightly.
  • Do we attend any congregation meetings while on tour?
By default you do not. However, depending on your tour itinerary, it may be possible. If that's the case we will inform you of this possibility and give you the chance to opt for it, at no extra cost to your tour package.
  • Do I need a Visa and/or a Passport in order to go to one of your tours?
Please go to our Passports & Visas page for a complete analysis of any Visa or Passport requirements.

Payments

  • What kind of payment methods do you accept?
At the moment, you can pay either through PayPal (no PayPal account is needed, you can just use your credit card through PayPal), or through a bank deposit. We work towards bringing you a few more payment choices in the future.
  • How can I pay?
You can make a payment with 2 different ways. The first way is to Log In to your ChristianBibleTours account, go to your Invoices menu, locate the invoice you want to pay, locate the payment you want to pay (an invoice can have more than one payment associated to it) and click the corresponding "Pay Now" button, which will take you to the payment's pay screen, where you can choose your payment method and proceed to completing your payment.

The second way, does not require you to log in. When an invoice is being created, it is sent to your email account. Go to your email, locate the invoice email and at the bottom of it are instructions on how to pay securely without logging in. This last method is necessary in case you, as the official representative of your group, need someone else to pay an invoice's payment, who does not have access to your ChristianBibleTours account. This can be useful in case you do not want to gather the necessary funds from your group and then pay us yourself (which is the default), but instead you want certain group members to pay their share directly.
  • Do I, as the official representative of my group, have to pay for all members of my group?
By default, you are expected to gather the necessary funds from your group members and then pay us yourself. However, you have the option to break the payments to as many sub-payments as you like, attributable to certain members of your group. All you have to do is send us an email with the names of the people who will be paying, and the number of seats each will be paying for. We will then update your invoice to reflect these changes (the number of payments will have changed according to the number of people paying, and each payment will be accompanied by the name of the person it is intended for) and you can forward the invoice email to the necessary people, or you can send it through Facebook or Google+ (instructions are included in the invoice email). The invoice email will include specific instructions on how to pay securely without the need to log in to the ChristianBibleTours account, to which only you will have access.

However, keep in mind that if you choose not to gather the full amount and then pay us yourself, you risk getting into a situation where some members have paid on time while others have not. This is something that can potentially have adverse effects to your tour reservation and can even lead to loss of funds due to deadlines being missed without the possibility, in certain situations, of a refund.
  • How many payments are necessary?
By default there are 2 payments. The first is the initial deposit, which will secure your reservation and it is 30% of your tour's total cost. The second is the remaining balance.
  • When do I have to pay?
The initial deposit will have to be made at most 10 business days after the date we submitted our offer to you. The offer (quote) itself will have an expiration date of 3 days, so the sooner you accept it, in these 3 days, the more time you'll have to make the initial deposit.

The remaining balance will have to be paid at most 45 days prior to your arrival. If you fail to meet this deadline, the initial deposit will not be refundable.
  • What if I've made the initial deposit and then I want to make some changes to my tour package?
Assuming the changes are possible, the remaining balance will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Can I make changes to my tour package after I've made the final payment?
It depends on how much time is left before your arrival. If the changes are possible, and the cost ends up being higher, we will issue a new invoice with the remaining balance, if the cost is lower, we may refund you the difference (see terms & conditions for our refund policy).
  • Can I have an extension on my payment?
For the initial deposit we may be able to provide you with an extension, just make sure to notify us at least 2 business days before the payment's expiration date. For the final payment, however, there can be no extension.
